Announcements

ANNUAL CHAPTER REPORTS are due. Please use this easy to fill out and submit form to send your report by the April 30 deadline.

OTHER DEADLINES:

In January 2024 Omicron Delta Epsilon and the American Economic Association will jointly be hosting a Graduate Student Invited Paper Session at the ASSA meeting in San Antonio. Graduate students can apply online or by mail along with a brief abstract of your paper by May 15 , 2023. Decisions on papers and discussants will be made by June 15 , 2023.

THE DEADLINE has been extended to May 15 for submitting your proposal for a Chapter Grant. Funds are available up to $1,000 to support qualifying special projects of active chapters.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS:

The imminent retirement of Dr. Stacey Jones from the International Executive Board of Omicron Delta Epsilon opens a vacancy on the Board. ODE invites suggestions for Vice President to serve for a term of two years, subject to reappointment. Please send nominations, including self nominations, complete with a cover letter and CV to ODE President Ishuan Li Simonson at [email protected]. The deadline for submitting nominations is August 15, 2023.

Nominations are currently being accepted for the ODE Distinguished Chapter Advisor Award for outstanding service. This award is presented every other year at the Biennial Convention in conjunction with the ASSA meetings. Students and faculty can nominate an ODE chapter advisor based on longevity and/or outstanding service to the chapter and to the society. Self nominations are also accepted with a letter of recommendation from a dean or department chair. The deadline for nominations for 2024 is August 31, 2023.
