ODE in Transition

The Executive Board of Omicron Delta Epsilon, International Honor Society in Economics, announces the following.

July 1, 2007 marks a milestone in the history and operations of Omicron Delta Epsilon. After over 30 years of distinguished service to ODE, Bill Gunther is retiring as Executive Secretary-Treasurer. Also, Irene Gunther who has served so ably as Administrative Assistant for over 15 years is retiring. ODE expresses its deepest appreciation to the Gunthers for their devotion and service to ODE.

Dr. Farhang Niroomand, Professor of Business at the University of Southern Mississippi, has been appointed as the new Executive Secretary – Treasurer of ODE effective July 1, 2007. On the same day, Phyllis Pittman Carter will officially become the new Administrative Assistant for ODE. Both Dr. Niroomand and Phyllis Carter have been working closely with the Gunthers for several months to assure a virtually seamless transition in service to the members and chapters of Omicron Delta Epsilon.

We wish the Gunthers well and look forward to the leadership and vision Dr. Farhang Niroomand and Phyllis Carter will bring to ODE in the future.

Robert R. Ebert, Ph.D.

President, Omicron Delta Epsilon
